What to Expect When You Visit on Sunday

Welcome! We are so glad you are thinking of visiting us at Cook’s. We look forward to getting to know you. You can learn a lot about Cook’s on this website. Parking

You will find visitor parking spaces immediately in front of the church. Handicapped parking spaces are reserved in front of Friendship Hall, from which all areas of the church are wheelchair accessible. An usher will greet you just inside the door and will be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Worship Services

There are three Sunday morning worship services available: 8:15, 9:45, and 11:00. The 8:15 and 9:45 services are often enhanced by special music from talented individuals or the Women’s Ensemble. The 11:00 service enjoys the full Adult Choir on all Sundays except Communion Sunday. While some people choose to dress traditionally, you will find many people in casual dress—even jeans! Please feel welcome to come dressed as you feel comfortable. Ushers can provide a children’s bulletin if you have young children with you.

Fellowship Time in Friendship Hall

Coffee and donuts are available from 9:15-9:45 in the hallway outside Friendship Hall. We hope you’ll join us for conversation and fellowship.

Sunday School

Sunday School classes are provided for all ages at 9:45. Please see the Sunday School section of this website for descriptions of youth and adult classes.

Communion Services

Communion is served at all three services on the first Sunday of the month. The communion table of the United Methodist Church is an open table. You do not have to be a member of the church or be of a certain age to partake. The invitation to the table is an invitation to a personal and lasting relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

Nursery

A nursery is provided during all three worship services for children up to kindergarten age. The nursery is located in the hallway behind the sanctuary. Anyone in the church will be happy to help you find your way there. Our nursery facilities and experienced nursery staff have been approved by our Safe Sanctuary Committee.
